Matthew Brown Joins HCM Strategists
HCM moves to grow communications capacity.
WASHINGTON – The public policy and advocacy consulting firm HCM Strategists is making moves to develop its communications capacity with the addition of Matthew Brown to their experienced team. In the wake of the Affordable Care Act rollout and shifting ground in higher education, Brown will be working with HCM policy veterans to build strong communications strategy for the firm and its clients.
With respected clients devoted to building a better world, HCM has been empowering students and patients through smart policy development and strategic guidance for years. Based on their belief that good ideas play a critical role in advancing public policy, HCM is building out their communications staff to help spread those good ideas. In doing so, the firm hopes to give its clients an even stronger voice in DC and across the U.S.
“We’re determined to reach out to patients and students and find ways to connect policy makers with their core constituents,” said HCM founding partner Terrell Halaska. We’re thrilled to welcome Matthew onboard and to take our next big step in advocating smart policy through strategic communications efforts.”
With Brown joining communications veteran Cindi Williams, HCM is planting a solid foot in the communications and public affairs space. Williams joined HCM last year after having spent four years on the US leadership team of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. She served as the Director for US Communications across its domestic investments and worked with grantees and partners across the country to create a national dialogue about the need for education reform.
Brown comes to HCM from Clyde Strategies, a communications and public affairs firm, where he supported a range of education and financial services clients. Previously, he worked at ASGK Public Strategies, the public affairs firm founded by David Axelrod.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with such a talented and passionate group devoted to positive change in education and healthcare,” said Brown. “I look forward to helping move necessary policy conversations forward.”
HCM Strategists works with clients to align, advocate for, and advance public policies that improve our nation’s education and health.
