Following the announcement of Lumina Foundation’s new national attainment Goal 2040, we’re taking a moment to reflect on and celebrate Lumina’s 25 years of transformative leadership and meaningful impact in state policy and higher education reform.
The national higher education policy landscape and state-level attainment efforts have evolved significantly since 2008—with Lumina playing a leading role in driving progress.
Through Strategy Labs and its strategic partnerships, Lumina has built a powerful legacy of supporting state leaders and systems to advance educational attainment and align higher education with workforce needs. Its sustained commitment to expanding state capacity, encouraging the adoption of attainment goals, and tackling affordability challenges has laid the groundwork for long-term national gains.
