News

HCM Strategists is excited to announce the release of a new series of policy briefs from the Alliance for Learning Innovation (ALI), highlighting critical areas in education research and development (R&D). Our Senior Advisor, Julie Ajinkya, Ph.D., played a significant role in contributing to these efforts, specifically focusing on expanding and strengthening the role of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs).

About the Papers

ALI convened three diverse task forces to address pressing priorities in the education R&D ecosystem. These priorities include:

  • Strengthening state and local education R&D infrastructure

  • Making the education R&D ecosystem more inclusive

  • Expanding and enhancing the role of HBCUs, MSIs, and TCUs in education R&D

Julie’s contributions are prominently featured in the brief titled "The Role of HBCUs, MSIs & TCUs in Education R&D." This paper underscores the importance of investing in these critical institutions to enhance student education outcomes. It provides a detailed analysis of the challenges and opportunities faced by HBCUs, MSIs, and TCUs and offers strategic recommendations to build and sustain their capacity in the education R&D landscape.
