HCM Welcomes Gus Gluek as a 2025 Policy Fellow
Gus Gluek Joins HCM’s Policy Team as a 2025 Summer Fellow
Welcome to HCM, Gus!
Currently, Gus is a Ph.D. student at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studies higher education and data analytics. His research focuses on access and persistence for underrepresented students, higher education finance, and student debt. Before beginning his doctoral studies, Gus worked at the Tennessee Board of Regents, where he analyzed success outcomes for adult learners across the state. He also spent three years as a high school math teacher in South Carolina.
Gus holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Colby College and a master's in public policy from Vanderbilt University.
Outside of work, he is a die-hard Cleveland sports fan (Go Browns!) and enjoys running and playing intramural sports.
Gus will leverage his experience at the Tennessee Board of Regents and the Pennsylvania Board of Higher Education by working on projects that are at the intersection of value and finance. Immediately, Gus is analyzing the funding formula for the Oklahoma State Board of Regents and incorporating workforce outcomes into our calculations Moving forward, Gus will work on developing tools and resources to inform HCM's work in all 50 states, including baseline statistics for each state's higher education finance and how they promote value.
We’re excited to welcome Gus to the team and look forward to the insights and expertise he’ll bring to our data analytics efforts as we work together to drive meaningful impact at HCM Strategists.
